How to install and set up Microsoft 365

Use the account details from your purchase, create a new password and install the Microsoft 365 apps in a few simple steps.

  1. 1. Sign in at portal.office.com

    Open portal.office.com ↗ and choose Sign in. Microsoft may redirect you to its current Microsoft 365 portal.

  2. 2. Enter the account details

    Copy the account name and temporary password from your Microsoft 365 purchase in GETCID. Enter them only on an official Microsoft page.

  3. 3. Change the password

    If prompted, replace the temporary password with a new unique password. Otherwise open myaccount.microsoft.com ↗ and use the password-change section.

  4. 4. Download and install Microsoft 365

    Choose Install apps on the Microsoft 365 Apps page, run the installer, then open Word, Excel or PowerPoint and sign in with the new password.

    Open an installed app and verify that the purchased account is shown in the profile.
