How to activate Microsoft Office by phone

A complete guide from installing Office and entering your key to receiving a Confirmation ID through GETCID.

  1. 1. Install Microsoft Office

    Install the official Microsoft Office distribution on your computer and wait for setup to finish.

  2. 2. Open an Office application

    Launch Word, Excel or another application included in your Office package.

  3. 3. Enter the product key

    Enter your legitimately purchased 25-character key and select Activate. The key must match the installed Office edition.

    slmgr -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

  4. 4. Choose phone activation

    In the Activation Wizard select “I want to activate the software by telephone” and click Next.

  5. 5. Send your Installation ID to GETCID

    Copy the Installation ID shown in your own wizard and paste it into the GETCID activation form. Spaces and hyphens are optional; you can also upload a clear photo of the wizard.

  6. 6. Enter the Confirmation ID

    Copy the Confirmation ID returned by GETCID into fields A–H in the same order, then click Next.

  7. 7. Check the result

    Open File → Account and make sure Office shows “Product Activated”.
